You will build the agents and conversational analytics that let clients stop reading reports and start talking to their data, and lead that work as the practice grows. Gemini Enterprise, BigQuery, Looker and RAG, remote from anywhere in Australia, on contract with a path to permanent.

This is an established Australian technology consultancy that has launched a dedicated Data and AI practice on Google Cloud, and this capability is its lead offering. It is a founding role: you set how that work is delivered, built to standard patterns so the business can run it for clients as a managed service. The practice is lining up its first client engagements now. What you will do

The work sits on Google Cloud: Gemini Enterprise for agents, conversational analytics and grounded search, BigQuery and Cloud Storage underneath, Looker on top, with SQL, Python and MCP (Model Context Protocol) joining it together.

• Connect and model client data. Bring client data together across clouds and sources on BigQuery and Cloud Storage, with sound data modelling, schema design and role-based access control.
• Build agents that act. Conversational analytics, grounded search and RAG, and agents that blend data across sources, built on Gemini Enterprise.
• Put self-service in non-technical hands. Create agents and use MCP so business users can ask their own questions of their data.
• Deliver trusted insight. Governed data and reporting through Looker.
• Build for a managed service. Standardised, observable, multi-tenant patterns that can be run for many clients at once.

What you will bring

• A current Google Cloud certification. This one is essential, not a nice to have.
• Commercial generative AI delivery on Gemini or similar: agent creation, conversational analytics, RAG and grounding, and a working knowledge of MCP.
• A working knowledge of how data warehouses and lakehouses on BigQuery and Cloud Storage are set up and run, with data modelling, schema design and role-based access control.
• Looker, including dashboards and LookML semantic modelling, backed by strong SQL and Python.
• A senior or lead data and AI background: you work autonomously, guide others, and are comfortable building rapport with client heads and leads.

Nice to have

Vertex AI, Agent Builder or ADK, and Model Garden, plus multi-cloud or Snowflake exposure.
