Our client is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to lead the design and delivery of robust, scalable systems within a growing engineering organisation. You will set technical direction, mentor engineers, and ship high-quality software that directly shapes how this organisation builds and evolves its products.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, build, and maintain scalable backend and/or full-stack services with a focus on reliability and performance
• Lead end-to-end delivery of complex features, from technical discovery and design through implementation, testing, and release
• Define and uphold engineering standards, code quality, and best practices across the team
• Collaborate closely with product, design, and other stakeholders to translate requirements into clear technical solutions
• Identify technical risks and architectural improvements, and drive initiatives to reduce complexity and improve maintainability
• Mentor and support mid-level and junior engineers through code reviews, pairing, and technical guidance
• Contribute to the evolution of the organisation’s architecture, tooling, and development processes in a hybrid working environment

Requirements:

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience building production systems
• Strong proficiency in at least one modern programming language (e.g. Java, C#, JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, Go, or similar)
• Proven experience designing and implementing scalable, secure, and maintainable services or applications
• Solid understanding of software engineering fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, and system design
• Hands-on experience with modern development practices such as automated testing, CI/CD, and code review
• Ability to work effectively in a hybrid setup, collaborating with distributed team members and stakeholders

Nice to Have:

• Experience with cloud platforms and microservices-based architectures
• Background in mentoring, technical leadership, or acting as a go-to engineer on critical projects
• Exposure to front-end frameworks or full-stack development in addition to backend expertise
