This role sits within a Core Trading Technology team and focuses on designing, building and maintaining C# applications that directly support Front Office trading activity. The successful candidate will develop both server-side and user interface components for business-critical tools, data feeds and real-time messaging systems used by traders and researchers. Working closely with key stakeholders, the developer will own projects end-to-end and contribute to a culture of high performance, reliability and continuous improvement. Success in this position means delivering robust, efficient software solutions that enable better trading decisions in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop and maintain business-critical C# applications supporting Front Office trading activities.
• Take ownership of projects across the full software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering and solution design through to implementation, testing and production release.
• Collaborate with traders, quantitative researchers and technology teams to analyse requirements and translate them into robust technical solutions.
• Build and enhance both server-side components, including multi-threaded services, and user interfaces for trading analysis and monitoring tools.
• Ensure the reliability, scalability and performance of highly available trading systems, including data feeds, trade monitoring and real-time messaging applications.
• Continuously improve the Core Trading Technology platform through refactoring, automation, tooling enhancements and adoption of modern technologies.
• Provide ongoing support, troubleshooting and performance optimisation for existing applications in a time-sensitive trading environment.
• Mentor and guide junior developers, sharing best practices and contributing to a collaborative, high-performing team culture.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related technical discipline.
• At least 5 years of professional C# development experience, with strong focus on server-side systems and multi-threaded application design.
• Proven experience in client-side C# development and user interface implementation in a commercial setting.
• Solid understanding of web technologies, including HTML and JavaScript.
• Strong experience working across the full software development lifecycle, ideally within an Agile development environment.
• Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, trading or similarly time-critical environment.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with traders, quantitative analysts and other developers.
• High attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills and a commitment to delivering robust, high-quality software.

Nice to Have:

• Experience developing rich desktop user interfaces using WPF.
• Hands-on experience with ReactJS and TypeScript for modern front-end development.
• Experience running and deploying .NET Core applications on Linux in production environments.
• Exposure to real-time trading or messaging systems, such as Tibco RV, or other low-latency, high-availability platforms.
