You'll work side by side with some incredibly talented people who value technology as a core function of the business to enable them to power the decision-making for APAC and global markets. 

You'll be working day to day in the office in a low-latency environment, pushing the boundaries of low-latency to nanoseconds, helping optimise performance & scalability of complex algorithms to allow proper execution of millions of dollars worth of trades. 

It's an end-to-end role where you will not only build but also contribute to ideas around how to structure and redefine trading strategies. 

Three things that are required to succeed in this role;

You are a very good engineer/developer (C++ is your jam)

You're a very good C++ Developer and are a very good software engineer in general. You'll have a solid foundational knowledge from an education background (comp. sci./maths etc) and you'll use this daily to apply best practice to building out complex software.

You'll have experience with multi-threading, automated trading systems, or developing logic that manages orders & quotes. 

Come from a trading environment

This role is supporting the Equities (Index Futures) and Index Algo teams. So you will need to have worked on a trading floor before.

You've navigated the language of traders and have been able to develop the software and trading systems needed to implement their strategies. Could be in a bank or another algo/quant trading company - but you'll need to have spent some time working within a trading environment. 

Note - you don't have to have recent experience, perhaps you tried this first in your career and ventured into another industry, and wish to return. 

Passion

This is probably something that can't be taught. You've either got it or you had it, and this could be the new place to rekindle that fire. 

The passion to build things better than what you did yesterday. To seek first to understand complex trading strategies, option pricing models, risk calculations (the Greeks), and doing things right the first time - writing clean, maintainable, and structured code. 

You'll be in the office every day. But what an office! It's also incredibly flexible in terms of start and finish times, and is located in Sydney CBD. You get 2 WFH days a month.
